Weighty Matter

With the number of liposuction procedures rising by almost 90% in just one year, the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons are reporting that the procedure appears to be a popular means of removing stubborn fat.

Following the findings uncovered by BAAPS’s annual audit, Dr Nicholas Parkhouse, from the BMI McIndoe Surgical Centre in East Grinstead said: “We are witnessing more people wanting liposuction to remove excess flab, particularly around the hips, knees and tummy areas. There is a general misconception that liposuction is a ‘quick fix’ solution for weight loss, and it’s important that patient expectations are appropriately managed through a proper consultation period.”
